"All journeys begin with a single step."
That sounds easy doesn't it? The reality is that it's not! Often deciding to take the first step, can be the most difficult decision you will face. For some, the motivation to consider seeking help seems to have disappeared, while others seem to be find themselves faced with anxiety at every turn. Truthfully, there's nothing easy about choosing to see a counselor. Just the thought of asking for help causes many of us to cringe.
Have you been wearing the mask? The one that says,"I'm fine, it's just stress, I'm just tired." While somewhere inside you know that you're not fine, it's not going away, and you are worried that maybe you can't handle it alone. If this sounds familiar, then what you need to know is that you are not alone. By seeking help you are saying that you have the courage to overcome adversity and that you still believe there can be light at the end of the tunnel. I'm here to help you figure out what your next step is and get you back on the path you want to be on.

Having a strong desire to help others has always been a driving force in my life. With that goal in mind my first career was in law enforcement which allowed me not only to help others often at what were some of the worst points in their lives, but also challenged me to grow as an individual by continually evaluating my own attitudes towards class, race, and gender.
My path in life has allowed me to serve as an English teacher to Tibetan refugees in India, and volunteer with Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata. These experiences and more have opened my eyes to the amazing ability we all have to be of benefit to others even when things are at their worst.
